A booming thud seemed to cement the redemption rout. Before a raucous crowd littered with red in Penn State’s Rec Hall, the No. 1 Husker volleyball team was on the verge of decisively taking the first set from the team that had blocked them from a national title appearance one year earlier.

Colleen Ziegelbein, the mother of Rebekah Allick, was on hand to watch Rebekah and the Huskers clinch at least a tie for the Big Ten regular season championship against Iowa on Nov. 20. Two days later, she traveled to the road match at Indiana University, where the Huskers locked up the conference title outright.

For the third time in Nebraska volleyball program history, the Huskers have gone the entire regular season without losing a match: 30 matches, 30 wins.
The final win of this year’s regular season came Saturday against Ohio State, with Nebraska winning 25-16, 25-13, 25-20 at the Devaney Sports Center.
